Dräger Polytron® 8700 IRFlammable gas detection
Dräger Polytron ® 8700 IR is an advanced explosion-proof transmitter that can detect combustible gases with concentrations reaching the lower explosive limit (LEL). It adopts Dr ä ger PIR 7000 high-performance infrared sensor, which can quickly detect most common hydrocarbon gases. In addition to the 3-wire, 4 to 20mA analog output with relays, the product also offers Modbus and Fieldbus, making it compatible with most control systems.
Efficient, Stable, Durable - Dr ä ger PIR 7000
The 316L stainless steel casing and drift free optical components of the Dr ä ger PIR 7000 ensure its applicability in harsh industrial environments, such as offshore facilities. Its unique 4-beam signal stabilization system can prevent the optical surface of the sensor from being contaminated with dust or dirt. The environmental and aging impacts can be offset to ensure long-term stable operation of the equipment and prevent drift. The comprehensive gas storage of up to 100 gases makes its application highly flexible. Each gas listed in the gas library can be selected from the menu and automatically cross calibrated using standard calibration gases such as methane or propane. When there is a change in usage, there is no need to consult the manufacturer.
Through digital communication, devices are easy to manage
The Dr ä ger Polytron 8700 is equipped with a digital interface, allowing users to easily and quickly remotely query the status of the transmitter. The product can be integrated with existing asset management systems such as PACTware through DTM ™) Integrate.
In addition to the common HART ® Communication system can also use fieldbus interface PROFIBUS ® PA, FOUNDATION fieldbus H1, and Modbus RTU.
Same design, same working principle
Dr ä ger Polytron 8700 belongs to the Polytron 8000 series. All transmitters in this series have the same design and user interface. This achieves unified operation while reducing training and maintenance requirements. The large graphic backlit display screen can clearly display status information in an easy-to-use format. During normal operation, the measured gas concentration, selected gas type, and measurement unit can be displayed. Colorful LEDs (green, yellow, red) can provide additional alarm and status information. The Polytron 8700 operates using a magnetic rod located above the contact surface.
data logger
The Polytron 8700 is equipped with a data logger that can provide measurement and event data records for the past few years.
Three relays used to control external devices
If requested by the customer, Dr ä ger Polytron 8700 can come with three integrated relays. This way, you can use this device as an independent gas detection system, equipped with two adjustable concentration alarms and one fault alarm. Therefore, audio alarms, signal lights, and similar devices can be controlled locally without the need for additional cables between the transmitter and the central controller.
Safe and sturdy casing, suitable for various applications
The Polytron 8700 is equipped with an aluminum or stainless steel casing with an explosion-proof rating of Class I or Class 1, making it suitable for use in various environmental conditions. The version with protection type "e" includes a very convenient installation base that can be installed in hazardous environments without the need for conduit (subject to relevant regulations).
Remote sensors make impossible things possible
The optional remote sensor conduit housing allows users to install the infrared sensor up to 30 meters (100 feet) away from the Polytron transmitter. The special calibration flow slot accessory equipped allows one person to perform comprehensive calibration of remotely installed sensors through the transmitter.
